Bentonville West High School issued the following announcement on May 20.
Our Extra Mile Award recipient has committed 31 years of her life to Bentonville Schools. Betsy Batey retires next month and takes with her our love and admiration!
She was nominated for the Extra Mile Award by Brittany Fleming, a library media specialist at R.E. Baker Elementary. In her nomination, Brittany wrote Betsy has been the go-to for a myriad of issues. Whether troubleshooting technology or facilitating teacher brainstorming sessions, Betsy is always happy to help.
More than that, Brittany wrote, “No matter what, Betsy has a welcoming smile and I always feel special in her presence.” Maya Angelou beautifully said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
We applaud Betsy for going the Extra Mile to make colleagues, students and parents feel valued in a hustle and bustle world.
