City of Gravette issued the following announcement on Mar. 19.
As many of you know, city clerk/treasurer Mike von Ree has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Mike has been a fixture in the life of the city for more than 25 years. He has served on the planning commission, city council, and as elected clerk/treasurer. He is a founding member and current member of the Gravette Historical Museum Commission and has been involved in numerous civic organizations and causes. While serving as city planner, he was instrumental in land use activities, business development, future city planning, and the annexation of Hiwasse. He is a long-time small business owner and chances are, you or your child was awarded a trophy or plaque created by Mike (aka Wizard Works). Mike deserves all the recognition in the world and then some for the contributions he has made to our community. Today, Mayor Maddox was pleased to present to Mike the key to the city of Gravette in honor of his invaluable contributions. Mike, thank you for your investment in Gravette
