CITY OF BENTONVILLE: Run Bentonville Half Marathon & Expo Announcement

Run

City of Bentonville issued the following announcement on Oct. 5.

The 2021 Run Bentonville Half Marathon, originally planned for April 10, is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, at 7:00am, on the Bentonville Square. Over 2,100 participants will compete in the Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and 5k race, presented by The Walmart Museum.

The weekend begins with a Health & Wellness Expo and packet pick up on Friday, October 8. Orgain is the presenting sponsor of this event at The Hangar – Thaden Fieldhouse. Located between the Bentonville Municipal Airport and Lake Bentonville, the address is 2205 SW “I” Street. The Expo is open to runners and guests from 10:00am – 7:00pm.

On Saturday, October 9, road closures will begin by 6:00am. This includes intersections on 2nd Street, NE A Street, and one northbound lane on Walton Boulevard. Anyone traveling on these roads can expect a brief delay. Other closures along the course will follow a rolling schedule as runners clear the streets impacted. The half marathon and relay, presented by Nestle, start on Central Avenue next to the Benton County Courthouse. The 5k starts at Main Street and 3rd Street. All events finish in front of the historic Walton Five and Dime.

The Downtown Square serves as the official backdrop for our race celebration, complete with festivities and fun for participants and spectators. The Party Line Band is providing music and entertainment. The 2022 Run Bentonville Half Marathon will once again return as a spring race on Saturday, April 2nd.
