Steve Womack honors local teen and reintroduces poppy seed safety act

Representative Steve Womack, a long-standing member of the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas' 3rd district, has recently taken to social media to highlight key community events and legislative concerns. Womack, who succeeded John Boozman in 2011, continues to engage with his constituents through various channels.

On April 1, 2025, Womack recognized the achievements of Peyton Bolling, who recently became the first Arkansan to win the title of Miss America's Teen. In his post, Womack stated, "This morning, I went to the House Floor to honor Northwest Arkansas' own Peyton Bolling! Peyton recently became the first Arkansan ever to be Miss America's Teen. Congratulations, Peyton!"

In a subsequent post on April 2, 2025, Womack discussed the reintroduction of the Stephen Hacala Poppy Seed Safety Act. He highlighted the tragic loss experienced by the Hacala family from Rogers due to contaminated poppy seeds. "The Hacala family of Rogers lost their son, Stephen, because lethal substances found their way into our food supply through contaminated poppy seeds. Today, I reintroduced the Stephen Hacala Poppy Seed Safety Act to ensure that no other family experiences a tragedy like the."

On April 4, 2025, Womack issued a public safety warning via social media regarding inclement weather. He informed his followers of a flash flood warning affecting much of his district, advising, "There is a flash flood warning for much of our district. Be aware and stay safe!"
