Bentonville West High School issued the following announcement on May 10.
This past weekend, West Forensics & Debate students competed in a national online tournament known as the NSDA Last Chance Qualifier. This tournament was held online for students around the nation for a chance to qualify to the national tournament this summer in Kentucky. Our students competed along with nearly 900 other students for a chance at these coveted spots.
Sophomore Nayana Swain advanced to the final round of competition in US Extemporaneous Speaking. While she did not qualify for Nationals, she finished in the top 20.
Juniors Bailee Elam & Lauren Jackson also advanced to the final round of competition. This time in Duo Interpretation. These ladies placed SIXTH among their competitors and secured a spot to Nationals.
