ROGERS-LOWELL AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Lens Series: Move the Needle to be held April 1

Business1000

Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) knowledge and skills are sources of competitive advantage for businesses and have been identified as important elements to the success and sustainability of communities in the future. While larger corporations housed in Northwest Arkansas have the breadth of human and financial resources to leverage this DEI competitive advantage, most small to midsized businesses lack the means necessary to capitalize on these assets. This is true even when diversity is an integral part of the customer base, employee pool or corporate values. Seeking to address these issues, the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce has launched The Chamber to Community Lens Series.

The Lens Series focuses on providing training and strategies for all our members by helping to level the playing field regarding access to strategic and innovative DEI information and leadership support to better serve our growing diverse region. The Lens Series is designed is to equip business leaders to apply DEI principles to address relevant organizational challenges, apply these principles to business issues, and make their business more welcoming to their employees and customers. The Lens Series will focus on the business community and approach DEI from a business standpoint.

Organizations are increasingly looking to empower their people, clients and communities to come together and celebrate each other’s unique abilities and perspectives. To move the needle in inclusion, diversity and equity it takes all levels of an organization to be involved. Cox was named a “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” by Diversity Inc. in 2021 and believes that building an open, inclusive workplace is a continuous journey. Join us as the Cox team shares how they’ve built a grassroots team approach and explains basic structures for getting employees involved in this important work.
