Congressman Steve Womack of Arkansas’s Third District voted to advance the final government funding bill for Fiscal Year 2026 out of the House Appropriations Committee. Following the vote, he issued a statement addressing his colleagues and the legislative process.
“My fellow House Appropriators and I have done our job drafting and marking up all twelve bills that fund the discretionary side of our government. I want to commend my good friend Chairman Cole and all of my colleagues for completing our committee work. It’s now time for the rest of Congress to finish the job, leave Biden-Harris funding levels in the past, and pass the FY26 appropriations bills that are attuned to the current needs of the American people. This Congress has already shown it can exceed expectations and meet tough deadlines. I strongly urge my colleagues to bring that same energy and commitment to funding the government through regular order,” said Congressman Womack.
Earlier this year, Congress passed H.R. 1968, known as the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, which extends federal funding through September 30, 2025.
Steve Womack has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011 after succeeding John Boozman in that role (https://womack.house.gov/). He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. Born in Russellville, Arkansas in 1957, Womack currently resides in Rogers. He graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979.
