Of the 68,199 citizens living in Jefferson County in 2021, 78% were old enough to vote, equating to 53,208 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 26,143 were male, constituting 49.1%, and 27,065 were female, making up 50.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Jefferson County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 76.5%.
