PC OF BELLA VISTA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH: Love Your Neighbor

Giving

PC of Bella Vista Presbyterian Church issued the following announcement on Mar. 6.

The Mission Committee Invites You to … Love Your Neighbor by Giving My friend Billy Htoo was driven from his Burma homeland by ethnic persecution. He and his wife, Eh Ku, raised their five children in a camp in Thailand. Twenty years passed before they were cleared to come to the U.S. Billy’s family arrived with their prized Green Cards granting permanent residency and little else. Can we even imagine how they felt, landing in Los Angeles? That is when groups like Canopy play a vital role, helping refugees find homes and jobs to start new lives, Canopy provides a three-week job readiness course to help arrivals find employment. Until they do, what we consider “incidental expenses” like bus fare, diapers, and work shoes can seem like major obstacles to resettling successfully. That is where donations to Canopy make all the difference. Our financial gifts are used to help arriving families until they become self-supporting, Billy and his wife began with employment at a meat packing plant and have remained independent since. If you would like to help refugee families make the transition to self-sufficiency, please make your check payable to PCBV and note on the memo line that your gift is for Canopy NWA. On behalf of our committee, we are grateful for the generous support of this ministry by, as Pastor Judi put it, “All y’all!.” Thank you!
