City of Gravette issued the following announcement on Feb. 26.
The Gravette Police Department is accepting applications for the hybrid position of animal control officer/patrol officer.

The Animal Control Officer/Patrol Officer works under the general direction of the shift supervisor, performs animal control duties, performs police patrol, investigations, traffic regulation, and related law enforcement activities. While on duty, animal control officers interact frequently with the members of the community. They issue warning and citations to people for mistreatment of animals in their care and may remove animals from a negligent owner’s custody. In cases of wildlife, officer may help relocate these animals. This position is governed by state laws, federal laws, and department policy.
