Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.

While the last couple of years have been challenging, we have continued to be successful. Here are some highlights of what we achieved this year and results we’ve influenced with our mission work:

• The Government Affairs division completed the Northwest Arkansas Regional Legislative Agenda with the Northwest Arkansas Council, NWA Chambers and Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas to help guide priorities.

• Over $83 million in private capital investment (67 large-scale projects) had begun at year-end in Rogers.

• At year-end, Rogers had collected $23.7 million in taxes, $3.2 million above the record set in 2020.

• In Rogers-Lowell, 2,591 jobs were created in 2021 and the labor force grew by 1,849.

• The unemployment rate in Rogers decreased from 3.4% in January to 1.3% at the end of last year.

• Downtown Rogers opened 31 new businesses last year and continued to attract investments.

• The Community Development division hosted 243 minority entrepreneurs in its programs: How to Start a Business Spanish Seminar, NWA Minority Business Expo, and Board Service Certification.

• The Visit Rogers division’s efforts helped 2021 room tax revenue rebound to just below $1 million (an increase of 30% over 2020), evidence of a resurgence in leisure, group, and corporate travel to Rogers.

• The Chamber’s membership grew by 125 businesses, for a total of 1,901 member businesses in 2021.
