Rep. Steve Womack, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas’ 3rd district since 2011, recently shared insights on several legislative and oversight activities via social media. The congressman, who succeeded John Boozman and holds a BA from Arkansas Tech University, communicated about various initiatives through his Twitter account.

On June 5, 2025, Rep. Womack highlighted his involvement in a Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Subcommittee hearing where he questioned FAA official Chris about staffing concerns across all sectors of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Later that day, Rep. Womack discussed his exchange with White House Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought regarding potential economic repercussions if Congress failed to pass significant legislation such as H.R.1 or the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. According to Womack’s post “Yesterday, I asked White House OMB Director @russvought what would happen if Congress did not pass H.R.1 or the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. His answer: recession.” he emphasized the urgency of legislative action to prevent an economic downturn.

Additionally, on June 5th, Rep. Womack announced his support for the passage of the Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act in the House of Representatives. This legislation aims to relocate U.S. Small Business Administration offices out of sanctuary jurisdictions where local officials do not enforce federal law “Today the House, with my support, passed the Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act that would relocate U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) offices out of sanctuary jurisdictions where elected officials refuse to uphold federal law.”

Steve Womack was born in Russellville, Arkansas in 1957 and currently resides in Rogers at age 66.
