Rep. Steve Womack, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas’ 3rd district since 2011, recently addressed several key issues through his Twitter account. Womack, who was born in Russellville, Arkansas in 1957 and graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1979, shared updates on legislative matters he is involved with.
On May 6, Rep. Womack tweeted about his participation in the House Appropriations Committee’s Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee hearing. He engaged with Secretary Scott Bessent regarding the timeline for “X Day,” which marks the potential date for a U.S. default if Congress does not act to raise the debt ceiling.
The following day, May 7, he tweeted about discussions at the House Appropriations Committee’s Defense Subcommittee hearing concerning the Army Transformation Initiative (ATI). In conversation with Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and Army Chief of Staff General Randy George, Womack explored how ATI seeks to prepare the Army for future battlefields.
Later that same day, Rep. Womack announced that his bill, the Protecting Veteran Access to Telemedicine Service Act, had advanced in the House Veterans Affairs Committee. This legislation aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and efficiency for veterans. He expressed gratitude towards Chairman Mike Bost and committee members for their support.
