Rep. Steve Womack, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas’ 3rd district, shared insights and acknowledgments through a series of tweets recently. Womack, who has been in office since 2011 after succeeding John Boozman, continues to engage with constituents on social media.
On May 15, 2025, Rep. Womack praised the Arkansas National Guard’s readiness and their participation in unique training exercises in Guatemala. He noted the involvement of soldiers from his former battalion, the 2-153IN “Gunslingers,” stating “No matter where or when, the @arkansasguard is always ready! It’s great seeing Soldiers from my old battalion, 2-153IN ‘Gunslingers,’ getting after some unique training opportunities in the jungles of Guatemala.” He also highlighted Arkansas’s ongoing state partnership with Guatemala.
On Armed Forces Day, May 17, 2025, Rep. Womack expressed gratitude towards military personnel for their service and dedication to national security. In his tweet he stated: “Today, on Armed Forces Day, we honor the courageous men and women who stand guard against emerging threats to protect our freedom.”
Celebrating sports achievements within his state on May 18th, Rep. Womack congratulated the Arkansas Razorbacks for winning their fifth consecutive SEC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship by tweeting: “Congratulations to the 2025 SEC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Champions—the Arkansas Razorbacks! FIVE straight! WPS!!!”
Steve Womack was born in Russellville in 1957 and resides in Rogers; he graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BA in 1979.
